VMG supplies furniture for the world’s largest furniture and home furnishings retailer IKEA
“The investment will enable us to utilize our corrugated packaging capacities and modernize the old pulp mill for semi-cellulose production,” says Yury Kruk, CEO at Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill (Republic of Belarus).
“Currently, the old production site is partially mothballed. Only the production of corrugated packaging continues to work steadily, and we plan to attract investments there.”
The VMG Group headquartered in Klaipeda (Lithuania) manages 16 enterprises in Europe, including Belarus. The company’s business includes wood processing, business management, maintenance, logistics, and industrial property development.
The company exports to the EU, USA, India, China, Australia and the Middle East. In the near future, VMG deliveries to Europe may be packed in boxes produced at Svetlogorsk.
Soon the VMG enterprise in Mogilev will test Svetlogorsk products on its production line.
Svetlogorsk is also considering the possibility of installing a new cardboard-making machine for the production of its own high-quality roll products. This will enable the PPM to successfully compete in the domestic market and increase export volumes.
